Street Legal MC® was started in Minnesota in 1992 for motorcycle-riding individuals working in the legal system. Members include lawyers, judges, law school deans, law students, bailiffs, paralegals, legal secretaries, private investigators, court reporters and the like. We range from relatively unknown solos to a few prominent types, private to corporate and government, civil and criminal. We have chapters in the Black Hills, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Washington, Wisconsin and Nomad members in other states from Florida and Virginia to New Mexico and the West Coast. Our common interest is a passion for riding motorcycles as often and as far as time, money and other commitments permit. We ride virtually every make and model of bike, although a majority rides Harleys.
While our primary purpose is the pure fun, freedom and enjoyment of recreational motorcycle riding, we engage in other related pursuits as well. The club and its members raise money for charities, including Legal Aid, Lawyers for Literacy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and various veterans' events and memorials.
Our leadership and members are active in virtually all motorcycle rights organizations, including the Minnesota Motorcycle Riders Association, ABATE and NCOM. In Minnesota, our leadership was instrumental in founding the Minnesota Motorcycle Club Coalition, open to all motorcycle clubs. The MMRA and MMCC and their members were responsible for being able to push through passage of the first statute in the United States to make it illegal to deny access to any public accommodation to an individual because they are riding a motorcycle or wearing a patch on their back.
Some of us wear colors, some do not. We are a three patch neutral, non-territorial club. Center patch is as seen on this page. For non-lawyers the top rocker is "STREET LEGAL " and bottom rocker is USA. For lawyers the top rocker is "ROAD LAWYERS® " and bottom rockers are USA & "Street Legal MC®" We consider ourselves on good terms with all motorcycle clubs and organizations and their members. We are citizens, not one-percenters, but we have friends who are. We also have members and friends in law enforcement.
We are entertaining applications from lawyers around the world that would like to start Street Legal chapters in their states, provinces or countries.
